Position Description:

A Distinctive Schools School Monitor will ensure an enjoyable and safe lunch/recess experience for all students. A monitor is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of all students in the cafeteria and during the recess period. This person will:

  • Supervise students in the cafeteria during lunch services, monitoring noise level and student behavior, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment

  • Support students in the development of their social emotional awareness during free play time assisting students with conflict resolution

  • Complete incident reports/referrals in a clear and concise manner, referring students to the appropriate personnel should disciplinary action be deemed necessary

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • Experience working with children in education setting, as a volunteer or other child-related position
